Red Sea Energy AS processes personal information in connection with the delivery of power and other products and services to private individuals and companies, as well as when you visit our website www.redsea.energy.
We take privacy seriously and are concerned with safeguarding privacy legislation so that personal information is up to date and confidentiality is safeguarded.
This privacy statement provides information about what personal information is collected, how it is collected and what rights you have when personal information about you is registered with us. The CEO is primarily responsible for our processing of personal data.
What processing of personal data do we do?
1. Customer information
We process personal information that is necessary for our deliveries of products and services to you as a customer or as a potential customer. Registration of personal information is a prerequisite for our deliveries.
Among the information that is processed are name, birth number, plant address, invoice address, e-mail address, mobile phone and information about the products and services you buy from us, such as power consumption per. period and more.
Birth number is the basis for updating the name, address, postcode and postal address from the Central Population Register.
2. Electronic communication and registration for events
It is possible to subscribe to electronic communication where we present information and current offers. This is voluntary and means that you receive this per. email or text message. In order to receive electronic communication, it is necessary to have registered an e-mail address / mobile phone on My page.
You can withdraw your consent to electronic communication at any time, and mailings will be stopped.
In the contexts where events are required that require registration, electronic registration will require consent for registration.
3. Use of analysis tools, cookies and other technology
We collect regular visitor statistics for our websites using Google Analytics. This includes which of our websites have been read, time, which page you came from, geographical area, as well as the type of browser and operating system used. We can see your user ID if you log in to My page, but we do not link the mentioned information to you as a person. All statistical data is deleted after 36 months.
Statistics and other technology solutions, which only collect anonymous information, help us to continuously improve our internet pages, and tell us which pages we should pay the most attention to and which should be deleted.
4. Disclosure of personal information
For customers who purchase electric power, certain personal information will be handed over to the grid company that is responsible for the power grid to the plant address. As of May 2018, this will take place directly to the grid owner, while in the first quarter of 2019 this will be replaced by a new national register, ELHUB, which will be a common register as a link between all power suppliers and grid owners.
For customers who have entered into agreements for other products and services (from online store, charging of electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems, smart home solutions or mobile telephony), certain personal information may be handed over to subcontractors in connection with installation and / or operation of such products / services.
Data is provided in anonymous form to ENOVA based on the information collected from customers who have entered into an agreement on participation in ENOVA’s pilot project. The pilot project assesses the effects of real-time reporting of electricity consumption in connection with smart home solutions.
5. Deletion of data
After the introduction of ELHUB is completed in 2019 (joint register as a link between grid owners and power suppliers), we will store your settlement information three years after the end of the customer relationship in accordance with the Energy Act Regulations amending the regulations on power sales and grid services. Other personal information for the customer relationship is stored for 5 years after the invoicing has been completed in accordance with the Accounting Act. Until all settlement tasks related to the period prior to the introduction of ELHUB have been completed, historical information will not be deleted as a result of legitimate interest, as in connection with the conversion to automatic meter reading, discrepancies can be discovered between invoiced / stipulated and actual meter reading which may lead to additional claims or reimbursement.
Other customer relationships
Personal information related to other customer relationships will be stored as long as a service runs or the complaint deadline has not expired. Information will be stored for a minimum of 5 years from the time of purchase to meet the requirements for retention in the Accounting Act.
Our processing of personal data is regulated by a new personal data law which is based on a joint regulation from the EU. Your rights related to our processing of personal data are stated, among other things, in the Personal Data Act / Articles 15-19 of the Regulation. The most important rights are presented below.
1. Right of access
Anyone can demand to know what processing of personal data we carry out, as well as basic information about these processing. Such information is provided in this privacy statement.
If you are registered in our systems, you have the right to know what information is registered about you and which source the personal information comes from, in the contexts the data is not provided by yourself. We shall respond to inquiries about access or other rights under the Personal Data Act without undue delay and no later than within 30 days from the day the inquiry was received, unless special circumstances make it impossible to respond to the inquiry within this deadline. In that case, we will provide a preliminary answer with information about the reason for the delay and the probable time for when an answer can be given.
You also have the right to object to our processing of your information. If it turns out that the information is incorrect or incomplete, or that we process personal data we have no basis for processing, you have the right to demand that we correct, supplement or delete this information within 30 working days after we have received an inquiry about this. . You have the right to demand that the processing of personal data be restricted during the period we use to check the correctness of the processing.
3. Withdraw consent
In cases where the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you can withdraw your consent whenever you wish. Our processing covered by consent will then cease, and any personal data related to the consent will be deleted. When the consent is withdrawn, it does not affect the legality of the processing that has been carried out until the consent is withdrawn.
